William Buckley - Cork
William Buckley excelled on his championship debut for Cork in their Munster SHC first-round victory over Tipperary. The livewire forward scored six points, five of them from play, and his speed, first touch, and vision was a joy to watch.
Stephen Bennett - Waterford
Despite chronic hip issues that will likely require a double hip replacement when he retires, Stephen Bennett is still somehow one of the very best forwards in the country. He was sensational for Waterford in their Munster SHC defeat to Clare, scoring an incredible 3-12.
Caolan Taggart – Down
Caolan Taggart produced a heroic performance for Down in their Joe McDonagh Cup victory over Antrim. The powerful centre-back was an irresistible force as he won the ball and cleared his lines time and again.
