The GAA is proud to announce the hosting of the Wheelchair Hurling and Camogie Development Day 2024 on Saturday the 6th of April in Croke Park. This event marks a significant step forward in promoting inclusivity and accessibility in sports, offering individuals with disabilities an opportunity to engage in the exhilarating and traditional Irish sports of hurling and camogie.

Wheelchair hurling and camogie are adaptive versions of the traditional Gaelic games, modified to accommodate athletes with physical disabilities. This initiative seeks to break down barriers and provide a platform for individuals of all abilities to participate in these beloved sports.

The Development Day will feature a series of workshops and training led by experienced coaches and players in wheelchair hurling and camogie. Participants will have the chance to learn new High performance techniques and engage in educational workshops in a supportive and inclusive environment.

"We are thrilled to host the Wheelchair Hurling and Camogie Development Day 2024," said Geraldine McTavish, Diversity and Inclusion manager of GAA.

"This event underscores our commitment to diversity and inclusivity in sports, and we are excited to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to experience the joy and camaraderie of hurling and camogie."

The Development Day aims to raise awareness about the importance of adaptive sports and promote social inclusion for individuals with disabilities. By fostering a welcoming and accessible environment, organizers hope to inspire more people to get involved in wheelchair hurling and camogie and break down stereotypes surrounding disability and sports.

All members of the community, including athletes, coaches, families, and supporters, are encouraged to attend and show their support for this groundbreaking initiative.
