Fergal Horgan to referee All Ireland SHC Final

The GAA has confirmed the referees and match officials for the 2020 GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior and Joe McDonagh Cup Finals with Fergal Horgan confirmed as the referee for the senior final, while Liam Gordon from Galway will officiate in the Joe McDonagh game between Antrim and Kerry.

Horgan from Tipperary will take charge of the All-Ireland Senior final between Limerick and Waterford in what will be Fergal’s second Senior Final having previously refereed the 2017 Final between Galway and Waterford.

Fergal Horgan who is a member of the Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams has also refereed the All-Ireland Minor Final in 2014, and the All Ireland Senior Club final 2017 and 2019.

In this year’s Hurling Championship, Fergal has refereed the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Semi-Final between Waterford and Kilkenny, the Leinster Final between Kilkenny and Galway as well as Munster championship game – Clare v Limerick.

His umpires on the day will be John Ryan (Cashel King Cormacs), Alan Horgan, Mick Butler, and Sean Bradshaw (All Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams).

Cork’s Colm Lyons will be the standby referee. The other linesman is Paud O Dwyer (Carlow) and the Sideline Official will be Sean Cleere (Kilkenny).

Liam Gordon, who will be officiating the Joe McDonagh Cup, is a member of the Killimor club.

In this year’s hurling championship, Liam has refereed two Senior Hurling championship fixtures – Tipperary V Limerick & Wexford v Clare.

His umpires on the day will be Damien Gibbons, Alan MaClearn, Cian Ryan and Timmy Forde (all Killimor H C).

Dublin’s Sean Stack will be the standby referee, the other linesman is Patrick Murphy (Carlow) and the Sideline Official will be Thomas Gleeson (Dublin).
