Eddie Brennan has stepped down as Laois senior hurling manager.

The former Kilkenny star enjoyed a productive stint in charge of Laois.

Winning the 2019 Joe McDonagh Cup and subsequently defeating Dublin in a dramatic All Ireland SHC preliminary quarter-final brought glory to Laois.

In the 2020 Championship Laois lost to Dublin and Clare with Brennan announcing his decision to depart alongside selectors Niall Corcoran and Tommy Fitzgerald on Tuesday morning.

"We would like to thank all persons concerned that we worked with over the last two years and in particular the players who gave us great effort and dedication.

"We would like to wish everybody associated with Laois GAA the best in the future and wish them every success."
