According to a report in Thursday's *Irish Independent, *Domhnall O'Donovan, one of the heroes of Clare's 2013 All-Ireland win, has left the county's senior panel due to work commitments.

O'Donovan, a corner-back, famously roamed up the field and scored a stunning equalising point from the Hogan Stand sideline in injury-time to draw the 2013 All-Ireland final against Cork.

Clare's subsequent victory in the replay has bestowed a degree of legendary status on 27-year-old Clonlara man O'Donovan, who despite playing a central role in 2013, has not been a regular starter for Clare in recent seasons.

O'Donovan works with Kerry Group and according to Vincent Hogan's *Irish Independent *report, it is work reasons and work reasons alone that have prompted O'Donovan to step away from Clare's senior panel.

Clare have many options in the full-back line, with Seadna Morey, Paul Flanagan, Cian Dillon, David McInerney, Jack Browne and Patrick O'Connor among those whom Davy Fitzgerald has turned to from numbers 2 to 4 in recent matches.
