Tally appointed as Down football manager
Paddy Tally
Paddy Tally has been appointed Down’s new Senior Football team manager.
A member of Galway manager Kevin Walsh’s backroom team this year, the Tyrone native will replace Eamonn Burns who steps aside after three years in charge.
Tally has previously worked with the Down footballers as a coach under James McCartan in 2010 when the Mourne County were beaten in the All-Ireland SFC title.
He was Tyrone’s coach when they won their breakthrough All-Ireland title in 2003, and in 2017 managed St Mary’s to their first Sigerson Cup title since 1989.
