Laois eventually overcame a spirited Longford outfit by 2-12 to 2-9 at Laois Hire O'Moore Park.

An eventful match unfolded with the teams level, 2-9 each, with six minutes remaining.

Laois, though, clipped three points in a row courtesy of Conor Heffernan, Cathal Lee, and David Costello to earn victory.

Early on Laois were dominant, accumulating a 2-4 to 0-0 advantage by the 16th minute with Shaun Fitzpatrick and Oisín Mooney landing scores.

Jamie Brady Hynes and Jason Glancy replied with goals for Longford, who took the lead in the third quarter, but Laois responded.

Two first half goals put Meath on the road to a comfortable 2-11 to 0-4 triumph over Carlow.

Ruairi Kinsella netted twice for Meath, who were 2-7 to 0-4 ahead at the break.

Substitute Jack Reid's late point earned Wicklow an impressive 2-8 to 1-10 victory against Offaly.

Wicklow led 2-6 to 1-3 at half-time as Joe Prendergast and Tommy Keogh rattled goals for Wicklow following an early major from Offaly's Cormac Egan.

Joe Quigley, who converted a penalty, and Caelum Moriarty supplied second half goals as Dublin overpowered Louth by 2-16 to 0-7 at Parnell Park.

Dublin led 0-9 to 0-3 at the break and remained in the ascendancy when the action recommenced.

Shane Farrell was in excellent scoring form for Kildare, who beat Wexford 0-16 to 0-8.
