Mayo duo Tommy Conroy and Padraig O'Hora and Offaly's Cathal Donoghue are this week's nominees for GAA.ie Footballer of the Week.
The three nominees for this week’s GAA.ie Footballer of the Week are Mayo duo Tommy Conroy and Padraig O’Hora and Offaly U-20 star Cathal Donoghue.
The voting process is simple: like their image on the GAA's official Instagram page.
Voting will close at 10am on Tuesday, August 16, and the winner will be announced on GAA.ie.
Tommy Conroy (Mayo)
Rising Mayo star Tommy Conroy produced a real coming of age performance in their All-Ireland semi-final win over Dublin. The pacy attacker scored three fine points, two of them in the decisive phase of extra-time when Mayo kicked away from Dublin.
Cathal Donoghue (Offaly)
Offaly vice-captain, Cathal Donoghue, produced a sensational performance for the Faithful County in their Eirgrid All-Ireland U-20 Final win over Roscommon on Sunday. He scored two fine points, but it was his sheer work-rate all over the pitch that really caught the eye.
Padraig O’Hora (Mayo)
It’s difficult to believe that Saturday’s All-Ireland semi-final was only Padraig O’Hora’s second Championship start for Mayo. He produced a tremendously defiant performance in their full-back line, as he neutralised the threat of Dublin danger-men Con O’Callaghan and then Ciaran Kilkenny.
