Kildare’s Neil Flynn, Meath’s Cathal Hickey, and Galway’s Matthew Tierney are the three nominees for this week’s GAA.ie Footballer of the Week.
The voting process is simple: like their image on the GAA's official Instagram page.
Voting will close at 10am on Tuesday, July 6, and the winner will be announced on GAA.ie.
Neil Flynn (Kildare)
Neil Flynn was the main man for Kildare as the Lilywhites saw off the tricky challenge of Offaly in Sunday’s Leinster SFC quarter-final. His place-kicking from distance was immaculate as he converted four frees and two ‘45s and chipped in with a crucial 1-1 from play for good measure.
Cathal Hickey (Meath)
Still eligible for the U-20 grade, Meath wing-back Cathal Hickey looks like a special footballer in the making. He was excellent for the Royals against Longford on Sunday, driving forward from defence to score 1-2.
Matthew Tierney (Galway)
Matthew Tierney made an incredible Championship debut for Galway in their Connacht SFC semi-final win over Roscommon. The midfielder scored 1-3, with his brilliantly finished goal effectively deciding the game in Galway’s favour.
