The Westmeath star received 2,913 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Offaly's Dylan Hyland (1,849) and Wexford's Seán Nolan (1,563).

Always ready, willing, and able to drive forward, Sam McCartan was a key figure in Westmeath's surprisingly comfortable Tailteann Cup success over Laois. Remarkably, McCartan finished with eight points, including a couple of sweet two pointers.
Dylan Hyland (Offaly)
Dylan Hyland was in splendid form for Offaly on Saturday, scoring 1-12 in the Tailteann Cup success over New York. Hyland landed delightful scores from a variety of ranges and angles.
Seán Nolan (Wexford)
It has been an encouraging campaign for Wexford, who have reached the last eight of the Tailteann Cup with Seán Nolan's 2-3 haul vital against Antrim. Nolan caused Antrim significant problems, showing his clinical finishing ability.
