The Longford captain.received 1,566 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Derry's Conor Melaugh (1,377) and New York's Thomas Murray (1,377)

Captain Reuben Murray led by example as Longford captured the Lory Meagher Cup on Sunday. Murray, who finished with 1-3, supplied the match changing goal against Leitrim in the 52nd minute.

Connor Melaugh (Derry)

Connor Melaugh starred in Derry's Christy Ring Cup Final win over Kerry at Croke Park. The Derry attacker contributed 2-2 for Johnny McGarvey's outfit.

Thomas Douglas (New York)

These are encouraging times for the New York hurlers, who collected the Nickey Rackard Cup at Croke Park on Saturday. Thomas Douglas was an influential figure in the decider, contributing 0-8, including three points from play.
