Allianz Football League Division Four

Carlow 2-16 Antrim 1-15

Wicklow 1-17 Leitrim 2-13

London 0-21 Tipperary 0-21

There was plenty of drama in Division Four with Wicklow goalkeeper Mark Jackson one of those to leave his stamp on Round One of this year’s Allianz Football Leagues.

Jackson stepped up to knock over an injury two pointer, which handed Oisin McConville’s side a one point victory over Leitrim. Jackson knocked over four two point efforts in the game as his dead ball skills proved vital to Wicklow’s win.

Riordan O’Rourke struck a goal on 53 minutes for Leitrim, replying to Eoin Darcy’s penalty for Wexford two minutes earlier as the sides traded blows, but the Model men held out to get over the line in the end.

Carlow won on the road in Antrim with early goals from Niall Roche and Christopher Blake (penalty) - their first two scores of the game - paving the way for a win in Cargin that boss Joe Murphy will be delighted with.

The goals allowed them to control affairs and they were seven clear at one point in the second half before Mark Doran's Antrim struck for a goal to give themselves fresh hope.

Elsewhere in Division Four, Michael Maher's London and Niall Fitzgerald's Tipperary shared the spoils at Ruislip.

Daniel Clarke hit six points for London and Joe McGill hit seven points, but it was Tipperary’s Cian Smith who stepped up when the need was greatest to hit a two pointer that tied up the game at the death and complete a personal haul of 0-7.
