Those with a keen interest in Sigerson Cup football are fully aware that things can change quickly.
Momentum can be generated to enable adventures to take place.
The beauty of the 2026 competition is that the four remaining contenders firmly believe that attaining silverware is a possibility.
Queen's University have enjoyed a productive campaign under the astute guidance of Feargal Logan, an All-Ireland winning manager. UL, though, are benefitting from David Power's experience and passion. So, it should be a game worth monitoring.
At the quarter-final stage, Queen's edged out TU Dublin in a high scoring encounter featuring a dynamic display from Ronan Cassidy.
Anton Tohill and Michael Burnett are others contributing to Queen's encouraging spell.
Cian McHale, Frank Irwin, and the excellent Brian McNamara continue to impress for UL.
At the Mardyke, UCC, with plenty of exciting emerging players, host University of Galway.
Paul O'Keeffe's UCC impressed when defeating DCU Dóchas Eireann as Conor Daly, Michael McSweeney, and Ruairi Murphy landed vital scores.
Maurice Sheridan's history in the Sigerson is significant as a player and manager so the University of Galway boss will have his team primed for the trip Leeside.
The narrow win over UCD illustrated University of Galway's ability with Shane McGrath rifling over a two pointer when the issue was delicately poised. Clare forward Mark McInerney and Galway's Cillian Ó Curraoin are other capable attackers.
