Crucial matches are arriving thick and fast in the Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup.

On Wednesday evening in Group A, SETU Waterford will be eager to bounce back against Mary I, who edged out ATU Galway last week.

Shane Meehan and Shane O'Brien are potent attackers for the holders, who will be fully aware of SETU Waterford's chief threat, Reuben Halloran.

UL's panel is sprinkled with quality hurlers too including Gearoid O'Connor and Jack Leahy, who starred in the victory over SETU Waterford.

ATU Galway were defiant against Mary I with Kevin Cooney and Darragh Donohue supplying moments of inspiration.

University of Galway suffered a defeat in their opening encounter against MTU Cork and face a demanding task away to UCC.

Tom Kingtson's UCC outfit were effective when overcoming UCD with Brian Keating and Ben Cunningham prominent.

The Collins brothers, Liam and Niall, are influential figures for University of Galway.

MTU Cork, with Alan Connolly sharp in attack and Ciaran Joyce commanding at centre back, travel to Belfield for an important tussle with UCD.

Diarmuid Ó Dulaing and David Williams were in decent scoring form for UCD last week.

In the three team Group C, DCU Dóchas Eireann's game with Maynooth University carries real significance.

TUS Midwest and DCU Dóchas Eireann divided the spoils in the opening series.

James Carroll, Cillian Dunne, and Cian Boran are key players for DCU Dóchas Eireann, while Andy Hickey and Colm Fogarty are involved in the Maynooth University panel.
