Nickie Quaid voted GAA.ie Hurler of the Week

Nickie Quaid has been voted GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The Limerick goalkeeper received 3,553 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of colleagues Aidan O'Connor (3,035) and Shane O'Brien (3,027).

Nickie Quaid (Limerick)

The experienced Limerick goalkeeper Nickie Quaid was at his brilliant best against Clare on Sunday. Quaid was sharp throughout, making two splendid saves to deny Clare attacker Mark Rodgers.

Aidan O'Connor (Limerick)

An early Aidan O'Connor goal put Limerick on the road to victory against Clare in Ennis. Despite missing key players, O'Connor assumed responsibility, finishing with a 1-9 haul.

Shane O'Brien (Limerick)

Limerick's excellent full forward Shane O'Brien was one of many stars in Sunday's triumph over Clare. O'Brien struck six points from play and was an influential figure for John Kiely's team.
