Cork forward, Shane Kingston, has ruled himself out of the Rebels’ first match of the Munster SHC against Waterford on Sunday, April 21.

Kingston pulled a hamstring in training recently but is hopeful that he’ll be available for selection again when Cork play Clare in Round 2 of the Munster SHC on April 28.

“Potentially, all going well,” said Kingston of his chances of featuring against Clare when he spoke to the media today at the launch of eir’s sponsorship of the 2024 All-Ireland SHC.

“As soon as the league finishes, if you pick up any bit of a knock you’re under pressure, like.

“Unfortunately, I was in the same situation last year. I got through all the league, all of pre-season, first session before championship I pulled my hamstring and I’ve done it now again. It’s disappointing but you’d be hoping we’ll have a long season and have a long year then.”
