Representing a new, modern, and accessible identity, ‘eir for all’ will feature prominently throughout eir’s sponsorship of this season’s Hurling Championship that brings colour, excitement, and connectivity to communities the length and breadth of the country.

To launch the ‘eir for all’ sponsorship of the Championship, elite players Declan Hanon, Limerick, Shane Kingston, Cork, Eoghan O’Donnell, Dublin, and Conor Whelan, Galway, joined eir’s Susan Brady, Managing Director, Consumer and Small Business, and Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, Jarlath Burns, at GAA HQ today.

eir’s 5G network has transformed how fans interact with the game, offering unprecedented connectivity speeds.

During the AllIreland GAA Senior Hurling and Football finals of 2023, eir's 5G traffic soared by over 150% from the previous year, with nearly 40% of all data traffic during these pinnacle events supported by eir's cutting-edge 5G network. This trend continued into 2024, marking the busiest event at Croke Park to date on February 24th. The double header featuring Hurling and Football Allianz League matches (Dublin v Limerick and Dublin v Kerry) saw close to 50% of data traffic facilitated by eir's 5G, illustrating the network's vital role in supporting enhanced fan experiences through faster downloads and seamless streaming.

eir has been a proud partner of the GAA since 2011 and is now in the second of its five-year official sponsorship of the GAA All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. This year’s partnership is further enriched by the integration of eir’s 5G network at Croke Park, exemplifying eir’s dedication to enhancing match day experiences and supporting Ireland’s sporting heritage with innovative technology.

As well as featuring throughout the Hurling Championship, ‘eir for all’ will be part of eir’s range of diverse partnerships including the upcoming GamerFest, and as long term supporters of Special Olympics Ireland.

Speaking at today’s launch, eir’s Susan Brady, Managing Director, Consumer and Small Business, said: “Last month we unveiled ‘eir for all’ as our new brand identity, representing our vision of a modern and connected Ireland. The AllIreland Hurling Championship has such inclusivity and connection at its heart in the way it brings communities, families, and people together. Just as the All-Ireland Hurling Championship is an integral part of Irish life, so too eir is central to how we live and work providing 1.2 million homes and businesses across Ireland with future-proofed fibre to the home broadband network. We are incredibly proud to be a title sponsor once again and encourage eir customers across the country to sign-up to our exclusive GAAGO offer to have the chance to see these great hurling stars in action.”

Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, Jarlath Burns, commented, “On behalf of Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, I would like to thank eir for their ongoing support as one of our title sponsors for the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship. eir has been a longstanding partner of the GAA, helping us to promote, support, and develop our games in communities throughout Ireland, in a spirit of inclusivity. This season’s Hurling Championship will be one of the most competitive and exciting in recent times and I want to thank eir for helping us to bring these games to fans across Ireland and beyond and bring people together in a unique way.”
