Gearóid White named 2026 Dalata Hotel Group GAA U20 Footballer of the Year

The Dalata Hotel Group, in proud partnership with the GAA and the Gaelic Writers' Association, is delighted to announce Gearóid White (Kerry) as the 2026 Dalata Hotel Group GAA U20 Footballer of the Year.

Selected by a panel of expert GAA journalists from the Gaelic Writers' Association, the award recognises White's outstanding performances, leadership, and influence throughout the championship, culminating in an exceptional campaign for Kerry. The Kingdom's impact on the championship was further recognised through the selection of Gearóid White, Evan Boyle, Gearóid Evans, Tomás Kennedy, Daniel Kirby and Aodhna Ó Beaglaoich on the 2026 Dalata Hotel Group All-Ireland U20 Football Team of the Year.

Having completed the second year of its title sponsorship of the GAA U20 Football Championship, Dalata Hotel Group continues to celebrate the next generation of U20 talent through its 'For Difference Makers' campaign. This recognition celebrates those who demonstrate leadership, resilience, and the ability to make a meaningful impact when it matters most, both on and off the field.

A True Difference Maker

At the heart of Kerry's championship journey, Gearóid White consistently demonstrated the qualities of a true Difference Maker. His composure under pressure and ability to influence games at both ends of the field made him one of the standout performers of the 2026 championship.

Throughout the championship, White delivered a series of influential displays, combining defensive solidity with attacking intent and leadership. His consistency, determination, and ability to perform in key moments set him apart and earned widespread recognition from supporters, teammates, and pundits alike.

In recognition of his performances, White has also been selected on the 2026 Dalata Hotel Group All-Ireland U20 Football Team of the Year as well as Player of the Province for Munster, while also receiving thge championship's highest individual honour.
