James Conlon (Meath)
Meath produced a defiant display to overcome Derry on Saturday evening. James Conlon supplied the attacking class for the Royals, finishing with a remarkable seven points from play.
Dara McDonnell (Louth)
As expected, a hard fought derby unfolded in Inniskeen with Louth defeating neighbours Armagh. Dara McDonnell thundered forward at every available opportunity to score 1-3 for Gavin Devlin's improving team.
Con O'Callaghan (Dublin)
Once again, Cuala forward Con O'Callaghan was the inspiration for Dublin against Cavan at Kingspan Breffni. O'Callaghan contributed 1-9 for Ger Brennan's outfit and was a potent threat throughout.
Céin D'Arcy (Galway)
The industrious Céin D'Arcy starred as Galway fended off Westmeath's spirited challenge in Salthill. D'Arcy scored two points, and his aerial ability to win possession from kickouts was a crucial factor.
