Wicklow 3-16 Donegal 2-18

In additional time at the end of a thoroughly enjoyable match Germaine struck a couple of majors - to complete a hat-trick - as Wicklow eventually prevailed.

An impressive Donegal team, inspired by the excellent Liam McKinney, who finished with a 1-8 haul, had assumed a commanding position, but Wicklow refused to be denied.

When it truly mattered Germaine provided the inspiration for Wicklow, who took the silverware.

Gavin Browne supplied an opening period goal for Donegal, who were 1-11 to 0-9 ahead at the interval.

Germaine, though, narrowed the gap with a blistering goal. Then, late on a free from Wicklow goalkeeper Conor McNally caused panic, and Germaine reacted smartly to score the decisive goal.
