Oral History

Members of Round Tower GAA Club, Clondalkin

Members of the Round Towers club in Clondalkin discuss their collective GAA history. All are from the local area and they describe how the club what built up by different families in what was once a relatively small community where most people knew each other. The club was a real focal point and brought people together on and off the pitch, through playing games, socialising at céilís and dances, and working hard to raise funds. They talk about their success on the pitch over the years and about how the expansion of the area impacted on the club. They also discuss the challenges that they face going into the future, particularly in relation to finances. All four are dedicated Round Towers members and each has their own individual GAA anecdotes to share.
