Kevin Tighe, Ryan McGloin and Seán Curran

Kevin Tighe, Ryan McGloin and Seán Curran discuss the ins and outs of running the Prague Hibernians GAA club in the Czech Republic. They each talk about their own GAA experiences in Ireland before moving abroad and deciding to set up a GAA club together, which involved a lot of work. Posters had to be drawn up and recruits found from the Irish population in the area. The players had to double as administrators and meeting their costs proved troublesome, as did securing sponsorship money from local businesses. They describe eventually getting a team together and playing against other European teams in tournaments, which they felt were poorly organised. Whilst they are proud of their club and enjoy participating in the GAA immensely, there are many difficulties, and the priorities for vulnerable clubs like Prague Hibernians are stability and continuity above all else.
