O'Neill appointed as Fermanagh manager
John O'Neill has been appointed as the new Fermanagh Senior football manager following a meeting of the county's management committee on Monday night.
O'Neill takes over from Malachy O'Rourke, who stepped down after the GAA All-Ireland Qualifier defeat to Armagh after three years at the helm.
Despite enjoying an impressive Ulster GAA Championship win over Cavan this summer, it was another disappointing year for Fermanagh, who will compete in Division 4 of the Allianz GAA Football National League next year.
O'Neill is the man charged with reviving the county's fortunes, having cut his teeth as a member of Charlie Mulgrew's backroom team during his spell in charge of Fermanagh.
O'Neill is also a former Minor manager with the county, and his backroom team will consist of Sid Mulrone of Devenish and Enniskillen's Simon Bradley.
Meanwhile, the race to replace Joe Kernan as Galway Senior football boss has been whittled down to four following the withdrawal of Pat Fallon, the former Mayo midfielder, from the running.
Galway Minor boss Gerry Fahy, former Westmeath manager Tomás Ó Flatharta, Matt Duggan and former Galway selector Peter Warren are all vying for the job.
