Kerry v Monaghan - Allianz Football League Division 1 Round 6
Monaghan hit by Drew Wylie injury blow
Monaghan have been dealt a major blow ahead of Sunday's Ulster Championship semi-final against Fermanagh, with Drew Wylie ruled out for the rest of the season with a cruciate knee ligament injury.
A Monaghan GAA source confirmed to GAA.ie on Tuesday that Wylie suffered the dreaded injury while playing for his club Ballybay recently, and that he will be unavailable for the rest of 2015.
He started at full-back, where he has established himself as one of the top defenders in the game, in the recent Ulster quarter-final win over Cavan.
On the plus side, 2013 All Star Colin Walshe is available for Sunday's game, having recovered fully from the cruciate knee injury he sustained in the All-Ireland quarter-final defeat to Dublin last year.
Walshe made a telling contribution against Cavan, coming off the bench after 43 minutes to score a crucial point in the one-point win.
