Jim McCorry appointed as Down manager
Jim McCorry has been appointed as the new Down senior football manager.
McCorry's appointment was rubber-stamped at a meeting of the Down County Board on Thursday night.
A native of Armagh, McCorry is currently in charge of county champions Kilcoo, whom he guided to the Ulster Club title in 2012 as well as back-to-back Down SFC honours.
He also led Mayobridge to the Down SFC title in 2001 and had a spell in charge of the Orchard County in the early 1990s, leading them to the Allianz League final in 1994.
He succeeds James McCartan, who stepped down from the role he held for five years following the Round 2 Qualifier defeat to Kildare in July.
Former Down stars John Treanor and Michael Walsh will form his backroom team.
