Gallagher returns as Donegal U21 assistant
Donegal's former All-Ireland winning coach Rory Gallagher has joined the county's U21 backroom team as assistant manager.
Gallagher's appointment as understudy to manager Maxi Curran, who was a selector for the senior side under Jim McGuinness when Donegal won the All-Ireland title in 2012, was ratified on Monday night.
Curran and Fermanagh native Gallagher left the Donegal senior team's set-up after the All-Ireland quarter-final defeat to Mayo, after which McGuinness appointed an entirely new backroom team.
Meanwhile, Fermoy's Denis Ring has been appointed as the new manager of the Cork minor hurling team.
The Rebels' former All-Ireland winning captain, Mark Landers, will act as coach, while John Mortell and John O'Dwyer have been named as selectors.
