Gall's dominate Antrim McKenna Cup squad
AIB GAA Football All-Ireland Club champions St. Gall's dominate Antrim manager Liam Bradley's squad for the 2011 Dr. McKenna Cup.
In total, there are nine representatives from the Belfast-based Club in the 26-man panel; Bradley was forced to play the season-opening competition last year without his Gall's contingent as they reached the Club decider in Croke Park, where they beat Kilmurry-Ibrickane on St. Patrick's Day.
However, following their defeat to Crossmaglen in this year's competition, Bradley will have a full hand to select from for the McKenna Cup.
Bradley has named five newcomers in his plans, including Sean O'Neill, Brendan McCann, Mark Sweeney, Richard Johnston and James Laverty.
Meanwhile, Down could be forced to plan without captain Ambrose Rogers for the Allianz Football League because he has suffered complications with an infection to his injured knee.
Rogers was forced to spend a week in hospital after picking up the infection while on a team holiday with Down in New York.
He has already been ruled out of the Dr. McKenna Cup and could be looking at a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
It will come as another significant blow to the Longstone man, who missed last year's All-Ireland final with a cruciate knee problem, as well as losing his spleen in an operation two years ago.
Tyrone's Conor Gourley, meanwhile, will also miss the Allianz Football League because he is recovering from knee surgery.
The Red Hand defender missed all of last season's Championship campaign with the injury, but expects to back in action in March or April of 2011.
