Cruciate injury confirmed for Cork's Ruairi Deane
A scan has confirmed that Cork footballer Ruairi Deane has sustained a torn cruciate ligament following an injury picked up in training.
He will begin the rehabilitation process immediately under the guidance of the Cork GAA medical team, and will meet surgeon Tadhg O'Sullivan next week.
The news of this injury comes as a huge disappointment to Ruairi himself, to the Cork team and management and to his club, Bantry Blues.
The midfielder, who captained the Cork Junior team to All-Ireland glory in 2013, started the Kildare game on February 9th and made substitute appearances in the wins over Westmeath and Dublin.
