Baker returns to management with Kilmacud
Former Clare hurler Ollie Baker has returned to management after taking charge of Dublin side Kilmacud Crokes, the club announced on Wednesday.
Baker, who won All-Irelands with Clare in 1995 and 1997, managed the Offaly senior hurling team for the past two seasons but he stepped down from his role at the end of the summer, following the county's championship exit against Waterford.
However, Baker has returned with the Stillorgan-based outfit and their chairman Peter Walsh expressed his delight with the appointment.
"The club are delighted to have brought on board someone of the calibre, energy and passion of Ollie Baker," he said in a statement.
"We believe that this sets out the enthusiasm, ambition and vision of the club and the commitment for us as a club and as a team to work as hard as possible to regain the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship and to bring whatever success is achievable by our fine young panel in the years ahead.
"We look forward to working with Ollie and bringing our own Clare revolution to Kilmacud Crokes Hurling!"
Kilmacud Crokes have won five Dublin senior hurling championships, most recently in 2012. Dublin pair Ryan O'Dwyer and Niall Corcoran are two of the most high-profile players Baker will be working with at the club.
