Killeshin came close to causing a shock at O'Moore Park, but Portlaoise stayed cool under pressure to earn a 34th Laois SFC crown.

Cathal Brennan and Eoin Lowry struck goals for gritty underdogs Killeshin, but Portlaoise finished strongly.

The excellent Kieran Lillis and Gareth Dillon contributed handsomely for Portlaoise, while Brian Glynn also registered three points from play.

Glencar-Manorhamilton captain Conor Dolan led by example providing the winning score against Ballinamore Sean O'Heslins.

A gripping game was level deep into stoppage time when Dolan pounced.

Ballinamore, who had Donal Feely sent off, played the whole second half with 14 men and were defiant throughout.

Ultimately, though, Glencar-Manorhamilton prevailed with Conor Dolan registering the crucial last gasp effort.

Castletown claimed a first Wexford SFC title since 2010, defeating Gusserane at Innovate Wexford Park.

James Holmes and Jonathan Bealin were in brilliant scoring form for the victors, who led 2-8 to 1-6 at the interval.

Brendan Halpin and Bealin bagged goals for Castletown, but Gusserane remained spirited.

Goals from Adrian Flynn and Gavin Sheehan gave Gusserane hope, but replacement Robbie Brooks supplied the insurance major for Castletown.

Conor Ffrench delivered a man of the match performance as St Patrick's triumphed against Arklow-Geraldines-Ballymoney in Wicklow.

Level early in the second half at 0-6 each Pat's eventually prevailed with Patrick McWalter and Stephen Duffy firing over important scores.

In the Longford Senior Hurling Championship Clonguish Gaels, who had suffered four final defeats since 2012, proved far too strong for Longford Slashers.

The highly regarded Paul Barden added the insurance goals in the closing stages for Clonguish.

Tony O'Kelly-Lynch rifled over eight points as Naomh Eoin edged out Easkey in the Sligo decider.

Arthur Wall netted a critical goal for the winners, who eventually won by three points to secure their first ever senior title.
