Congratulations to the many Scór co-ordinators from across the county who have worked tirelessly to ensure as a county we can build on last year’s successes. In this year’s Scór na nÓg competition we have 27 clubs providing almost 130 acts.
The competition has already commenced with the completion of the three South Down semi-finals in Mayobridge, Hilltown and Glassdrumman. The three venues were packed and those in attendance were treated to a high-quality competition.
Eighty acts have now been narrowed down to the thirty three acts that will perform in the South Down final in Saval on Friday 3rd March at 6.30pm. Another thirty acts will be in action in St Nicholas’ PS Ardglass on Saturday 4th March at 3.00pm. The winners and runners up in both Divisional finals will progress to the Down Scór na nÓg final in St Malachy’s High School, Castlewellan on Saturday 11th March at 4pm.
Anyone with an interest in Irish culture should come to these venues to support the young performers; you will be guaranteed an excellent evening of quality entertainment.
