The PwC GAA/GPA Player of the Month Award winners were announced at PwC’s offices in Dublin. Wexford’s Diarmuid O’Keeffe and Donegal’s Jamie Brennan were rewarded in hurling and football respectively for their championship performances in June.

Leinster GAA Council Chairman Jim Bolger and GPA Chief Executive Paul Flynn joined PwC Partner Billy Sweetman in making today’s presentation.

Diarmuid O’Keeffe was a vital driving force behind Wexford’s Leinster Championship campaign with wins over Carlow and Kilkenny in June, as well as the thrilling drawn match with Kilkenny in the final round robin fixture.

Meanwhile, Jamie Brennan’s free-scoring form has seen him pick up the football award following Donegal’s Ulster Championship wins over Tyrone and Cavan in June.

Commenting on the announcement, Billy Sweetman, Partner, PwC, said: "I’d like to congratulate both Diarmuid and Jamie on their respective provincial championship victories. Both players are worthy winners of June’s PwC GAA/GPA Player of the Month Awards, having contributed massively to a fascinating month of championship action.”

Many thanks on behalf of the GAA to Billy and the PwC team for hosting today’s event and all they do in the promotion of our games.”

Speaking on behalf of the GPA, Chief Executive Paul Flynn added: “Congratulations to both Diarmuid and Jamie on winning their respective awards. Both players have been exceptional on the pitch in recent games and are deserving winners of the PwC GAA/GPA Player of the Month Awards for June.”
