John West to sponsor Féile competitions for three years

John West, one of the world’s leading suppliers of fish, today launch a partnership deal with the GAA Féile competition at Croke Park.

John West ambassadors Dublin Senior footballer Philly McMahon and Tipperary ladies’ Senior footballer Sinead Delahunty were in attendance to help launch the new sponsorship and lend some advice to the young Féile players in attendance.

The John West Féile na nGael and Féile Peile na nÓg are national festivals for gaelic football, ladies gaelic football, handball, hurling and camogie played at under 14 level involving teams from across the Gaelic Athletic Association(GAA).

John West will be supporting the Féile with a fully integrated marketing campaign including digital content, social media updates, sampling and experiential activity for the duration of the festivals.

Peter Rooney, Country Manager at John West Ireland said, "We are delighted to announce this three-year sponsorship deal with the GAA and Féile. It marks another important step in our renewed commitment to promoting a healthy, well-balanced diet amongst the Irish population and in particular the teenage generation that will competing in this superb national festival. The ethos of Féile is to ensure that all players are given the opportunity to play and foster links and friendships with other clubs."

**This year's Féile competitions provides an opportunity for: **

  • Under 14 players to participate in an annual competition of Hurling/Camogie, Handball and Gaelic Football/Ladies Gaelic football·         
  • Clubs to experience playing against teams from other Counties/Provinces·         
  • Clubs to foster links with other Clubs in other Counties/Provinces·         
  • Counties to celebrate Gaelic games by acting as hosts·         
  • John West sampling across both weekends

The John West Féile na nGael and Féile Peile na nÓg National tournaments will be held in Tipperary/Waterford, 17th – 19th June 2016 and in Kerry, West Limerick and West Cork, 24th – 27th June 2016.
