'Family Silver' the GAA Museum Book Club Choice for May 2022
The GAA Museum Book Club choice for May is Family Silver by Humphrey Kelleher.
The GAA Museum is delighted to announce that our Book Club choice for May is Family Silver by Humphrey Kelleher.
This well-researched and invaluable book was a huge personal research project for the author. In GAA Family Silver he recounts the history of 101 GAA cups and trophies and tells the stories of the men and women for whom they were named.
In exploring the background of these objects, Kelleher brings the reader on a journey through the rich and varied history of the GAA and the people who made it. The book also includes spectacular imagery of the cups and forewords by Liam O’Neill, Brian Cody and Daire Ó’Cinnéide. It’s packed with interesting facts and gaelic games stories you’ve never heard before!
Author Humphrey Kelleher was the Dublin senior hurling manager in 2004 and 2005. He has represented his native Waterford in hurling and football at various levels and spent his professional career working in Dublin with Bank of Ireland.
