Darragh Fitzgibbon remains a key player for Charleville.

Darragh Fitzgibbon remains a key player for Charleville.

Patrickswell maintained their impressive start to the Limerick SHC with a fine 2-17 to 1-15 win over Na Piarsaigh.

Shane Dowling struck 1-11 for Na Piarsaigh, but it wasn't enough against a determined Patrickswell outfit.

Kevin O'Brien struck two early goals for Patrickswell, while the Gillane brothers, Aaron and Jason were also prominent.

John Kerins netted two goals for Garryspillane, who drew with a gritty Monaleen.

Three games finished level in Limerick highlighting how hard fought some of the games were in the Treaty County.

Willie Griffin struck two goals for Adare, who proved too strong for South Liberties.

In Galway the main talking point was Joseph Cooney's return to action for Sarsfields.

Cooney, who came back from Australia during the week, struck an early goal in Sarsfields 1-19 to 3-13 tussle against Kilnadeema-Leitrim.

Conor Cooney also performed for St Thomas', who overcame Tommie Larkins.

Turloughmore claimed another satisfying success with Daithi Burke an influential figure at centrefield.

Conor Cahalane's 1-4 haul helped St Finbarr's to an emphatic Cork SHC triumph over Carrigtwohill.

Shane Kingston and Alan Cadogan were instrumental as Douglas defeated Bride Rovers, while Darragh Fitzgibbon starred for Charleville against Erins Own.

Charleville, beaten in the AIB All Ireland Intermediate Club Final in February, edged the contest by two points with Fitzgibbon mining 0-14, including five sweet efforts from play.
