Tony Kelly is this week's GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

Tony Kelly is this week's GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

Clare star Tony Kelly is this week’s GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

He received 5,244 votes from the public ahead of Wexford’s Rory O’Connor (2,810), and Dublin’s Danny Sutcliffe (1,947)

Tony Kelly (Clare)

Tony Kelly produced yet another inspirational performance for Clare in their impressive Munster SHC quarter-final victory over Waterford on Sunday. He scored a total of 1-12, five points of which were from play, and typically popped up with the insurance score at the end when Waterford threatened to pull the game out of the fire.

Rory O’Connor (Wexford)

Rory O’Connor has been in red-hot form so far this year and produced another fine display for Wexford in their Leinster SHC quarter-final victory over Laois. He finished with a personal tally of 1-7, all of it from play, and just looked a cut above every other player on the pitch.

Danny Sutcliffe (Dublin)

Danny Sutcliffe scored three points from play for Dublin in their Leinster SHC quarter-final win over Antrim, but that was just one positive aspect of a great all-round performance. He worked ferociously throughout, made some big turn-overs, and his use of possession was top-class too.
