Seamus Harnedy was at his brilliant best as Cork retained the Munster Senior Hurling Championship in style at Semple Stadium.

The effective Cork forward struck 1-4 for John Meyler's team, who advance to the All Ireland Semi-Finals.

In a tight and tense Leinster Senior Hurling Championship Final Padraig Walsh produced a splendid display for Kilkenny.

Walsh made several excellent interventions, especially early on, as Kilkenny frustrated a highly rated Galway full forward line.

Carlow claimed Joe McDonagh Cup glory at Croke Park on Sunday with Chris Nolan an influential figure for Colm Bonnar's team.

Nolan clipped 1-4 for Carlow, who continue to make encouraging progress under Bonnar's shrewd guidance.
