Padraic Mannion is this week's GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The public has voted Galway’s Padraic Mannion the GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The talented defender received 3,643 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Clare’s David Fitzgerald (2,278) and Wexford’s Rory O’Connor (2,042).

Padraic Mannion (Galway)

Mannion was a defensive colossus for Galway in their dramatic Leinster SHC win over Kilkenny. He hurled a huge amount of ball, and was especially effective when moved onto Kilkenny’s main danger-man, Eoin Cody.

David Fitzgerald (Clare)

The powerfully built half-forward scored three important points for Clare in their Munster SHC victory over Cork and was especially influential when they were reduced to 14 men in the second-half at a time when his team needed inspiration most.

Rory O’Connor (Wexford)

The in-form O’Connor ran riot in Wexford’s heavy defeat of Laois in the Leinster SHC. He scored 1-3 from play and also won the two penalties that Mark Fanning converted.

Players of the Week are decided based on votes cast by followers of the Official GAA Instagram page.
