Littlewoods Ireland launched their sponsorship of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship with a unique photocall in central Dublin. The shoot featured nine-time All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship winner Jackie Tyrell, Cork hurler Anthony Nash and Clare hurler Brendan Bugler.

The fashion, sportswear, electrical and homeware retailer will continue with their successful #StyleOfPlay campaign following on from its introduction in the Littlewoods Ireland National Camogie Leagues earlier this year.

The innovative campaign will focus on the most stylish pieces of skill from matches throughout the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship, with the skills set to be released in video clips as part of the campaign. The clips will be shared on the Littlewoods Ireland social media channels once a month for the duration of the Championship, with members of the public being encouraged to vote for their overall favourite #StyleOfPlay moment.

2017 marks the first year of Ireland’s leading online department store sponsoring the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship, following the announcement of their three-year partnership with the GAA in December 2016. As part of their overall agreement, Littlewoods Ireland has partnered as title sponsor of the National Camogie League and the GAA Go Games provincial days. The Go Games, which aims to encourage grassroots participation in GAA games, saw over 6,000 children take part in mini versions of hurling and football matches over eight days in Croke Park. Following on from the success of these partnerships, the addition of the Hurling Championship will see Littlewoods Ireland becoming more engrained in GAA from grassroots level right up to the senior squads.

Speakng at the event, Geoff Scully, Managing Director of Littlewoods Ireland said: “Littlewoods Ireland are delighted to partner with the GAA through a number of different initiatives. The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship provides us with another excellent opportunity to further build on our strategy to connect with communities across Ireland. Our #StyleOfPlay campaign was a huge success during the National Camogie Leagues and we want to further showcase the skill and style of players through our #StyleOfPlay campaign in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship.”

Aogán Ó Fearghaíl Uachtaran CLG said: “I am delighted to launch Littlewoods Ireland’s inaugural sponsorship of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship. Littlewoods Ireland have already displayed their commitment to the GAA through their sponsorship of the National Camogie Leagues and the Go Games provincial days at Croke Park. I look forward to what they will bring to the games over the coming months and help bring the Hurling Championship to a bigger audience.”
