GAA.ie Hurler of the Week nominations
John McGrath
It was a massive weekend for hurling as Tipperary defeated Waterford in the Munster Hurling Final and Wexford and Clare qualified for the All-Ireland Quarter-Finals at the expense of Cork and Limerick.
Tipperary were inspired to victory by 21-year-old John McGrath who scored an impressive 3-2 from play in his ever Munster Senior Hurling Final.
He makes the short-list for this week's Hurler of the Week nominations, and is joined there by Wexford's Lee Chin and Clare's Podge Collins.
The voting process is simple: retweet the image of your chosen player on the GAA's official Twitter account (@officialgaa) or like their image on the GAA's official Facebook and Instagram pages. Voting will close at 11am on Tuesday, July 12 and the winner will be announced on GAA.ie.
Hurler of the Week Nominations
John McGrath - Tipperary
John McGrath produced one of the all-time great Munster Final performances for Tipperary as they blew Waterford away on Sunday. The 21-year-old Loughmore man scored 3-2, and showed great skill, strength and nerve for someone so young.
Tipperary laboured for much of the first-half, but McGrath's opportunistic goal helped them get their noses in front. His second-goal once again showcased his quick-thinking as he kicked the ball to the net after first winning it above Tadhg de Búrca and then slaloming through the Waterford defence.
He then set up Michael Breen for Tipp's third goal, before scoring the fourth himself from a penalty. He also chipped in with two classy points from play in a Man of the Match performance.
Lee Chin
Lee Chin - Wexford
Lee Chin contributed more than anyone else to Wexford's first Championship win over Cork in 60 years as the Slaneysiders beat the Rebels in Saturday's Round 2 All-Ireland Qualifier.
The powerful centre-forward took the charge to Cork all day and scored four vital points from play.
His ball-winning ability and ability to accelerate way from would-be tacklers was hugely impressive, and the Cork defence simply couldn't handle his mixture of skill and athleticism.
Podge Collins
Podge Collins - Clare
Clare started their All-Ireland Round 2 Qualifier against Limerick slowly, but then they suddenly ignited thanks to some pyrotechnic hurling from Podge Collins.
He hit three brilliant first-half points that set Clare on their way, but he brought much more to the table than just clinical finishing.
His work-rate was immense as he popped up in all areas of the field to win ball and use it wisely. Limerick just didn't know how to handle him. Incredibly, Collins then played a major role in a famous win the following day for the Clare footballers against Laois.
