GAA Congress this evening rubber-stamped Galway's participation in the Leinster Minor Hurling Championship.

Heretofore Galway's minor hurlers joined the championship at the round-robin quarter-final stage at which point the teams they played had already benefited from a provincial championship.

But a motion brought forward by Galway GAA to Annual Congress to include their minors in the Leinster championship was supported by 78% of the delegates.

Galway will now compete in all three Leinster hurling championships - senior, U-20, and minor - from 2023.
