Cian Lynch, Declan Hannon, and Gearoid Hegarty are this week's nominees for GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

All-Ireland winning Limerick trio Cian Lynch, Gearoid Hegarty, and Declan Hannon are this week’s nominees for GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The voting process is simple: like their image on the GAA's official Instagram page.

Voting will close at 1pm on Tuesday, August 24, and the winner will be announced on GAA.ie.

Cian Lynch (Limerick)

His uncle Ciaran Carey has described him as the Lionel Messi of hurling, and that assessment didn’t seem like hyperbole after Lynch's All-Ireland Final performance. He scored six magical points from play and assisted both of Gearoid Hegarty’s goals among a host of many other positive contributions.

Gearoid Hegarty (Limerick)

This was the 2020 Hurler of the Year’s best performance in 2021. He destroyed the Cork defence in the first half during which he scored 2-2, with both goals brilliant finishes.

Declan Hannon (Limerick)

Hannon’s deliveries into the Limerick forwards were beautifully judged all afternoon. He also defended stoutly and garnished an excellent all-round performance by scoring two points from play himself.

Players of the Week are decided based on votes cast by followers of the Official GAA Instagram page.
