Hurler of the Week nominations
Cillian Buckley - Kilkenny
Cillian Buckley was absolutely immense at midfield for Kilkenny in their dramatic draw with Tipperary on Saturday night in Semple Stadium.
He covered ever blade of grass on the pitch as he hoovered up ball in the middle third, helped out his defence, and also got forward effectively to support his forwards.
He scored three classy points and on the basis of this performance it looks like his relocation from the half-back line to midfield will be a permanent one.
Conor Lehane - Cork
Lehane led by example for Cork yesterday when they turned over Waterford in Walsh Park in seriously impressive style.
The Cork centre-forward was the focal point of his team's hard-working attack as he won hard-ball and then used it very effectively.
He scored two typically classy points from play and was accurate from frees too in the absence of regular taker Patrick Horgan.
Gearoid Hegarty - Limerick
Hegarty ripped apart the Laois defence in Saturday evening's one-sided match at O'Moore Park.
Laois just couldn't cope with his size, strength, and scoring power, and tried three different markers on him in the first-half alone.
None of them could tame Hegarty though who finished the match with an incredible tally of 2-6 from play.
