Mark O'Brien's late winning point earned Clare a dramatic win over Waterford at Fraher Field.
Waterford, who trailed by nine points at one stage, fought back to level in the closing stages, but Clare prevailed.
O'Brien and James Hegarty were influential figures as Clare accumulated a 0-12 to 0-4 half-time advantage.
Waterford, though, rallied late on with Colm Hartley accurate and Conor Tobin supplying a goal.
Clare refused to be denied with O'Brien landing the decisive blow.
