Limerick captain Declan Hannon was delighted his team delivered 'a full performance' in the All Ireland SHC Final against Waterford.

Leading by three points at half-time, Limerick dominated following the restart which delighted Hannon.

"I suppose we spoke about it throughout the week that we wanted to put in a full performance," Hannon stated.

"After the last couple of games we weren’t overly happy, we played in fits and starts, like. We just honed in on trying to play for 70 minutes."

Claiming a second title in three years carried huge significance for Limerick.

"Great, feels even better, I think," Hannon remarked when asked about backing up the 2018 success.

"I’m unbelievably proud of the boys, throughout the lockdowns and things when we took a break, at the back of your mind you are always thinking of getting here.

"So it was a long long year, but we are over the moon, absolutely delighted."

The manner of Limerick's triumph pleased Hannon.

"At times in the second half we had a couple of bad wides, probably took the wrong option a couple of times, but in terms of a full performance it was close enough to it," Hannon added.

"These boys work so hard and I’m so happy for them."
