Galway’s Conor Whelan is the GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The deadly-accurate forward received 4,159 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Cork’s Mark Coleman (4017) and Kilkenny’s Martin Keoghan (2,122).

Conor Whelan (Galway)

Whelan fired three points from play in Galway’s convincing Allianz Hurling League Division One victory over Offaly. It was his all-round target-man play that really caught the eye though, as he won a huge amount of ball and used it very effectively.

Mark Coleman (Cork)

Cork’s captain for 2022, Mark Coleman certainly led by example in their impressive win over Clare. He scored five points and was the launch-pad for many of their attacks with his superb ball-distribution from the half-back line.

Martin Keoghan (Kilkenny)

Kilkenny could thank Martin Keoghan for saving their bacon after a very tricky test against Antrim at UPMC Nowlan Park. Keoghan’s impressive haul of 2-2 from play ultimately proved decisive as the Cats held on for a three-point victory.
