Cian Lynch is this week’s GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The Patrickswell clubman received 7,756 votes from the public on the GAA’s Instagram page which put him ahead of Limerick team-mates Gearoid Hegarty (4,035) and Declan Hannon (3,746)

Cian Lynch (Limerick)

His uncle Ciaran Carey has described him as the Lionel Messi of hurling, and that didn’t seem like hyperbole after Cian Lynch's All-Ireland Final performance. He scored six magical points from play and assisted both of Gearoid Hegarty’s goals.

Gearoid Hegarty (Limerick)

Hegarty's All-Ireland Final display was the 2020 Hurler of the Year’s best performance in 2021. He destroyed the Cork defence in the first half during which he scored 2-2, with both goals brilliant finishes.

Declan Hannon (Limerick)

Hannon’s deliveries into the Limerick forwards were beautifully judged all afternoon in the All-Ireland Final. He also defended stoutly and garnished an excellent all-round performance by scoring two points from play himself.
