The Dublin star received 3,297 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Limerick's Cathal O'Neill (3,149) and Antrim's James McNaughton (1,963).

Chris Crummey (Dublin)

The veteran defender is having an outstanding season and was superb again for Dublin in their crucial Leinster SHC victory over Galway. Resolute in defence, he also attacked with real purpose to score four points from play.

Cathal O’Neill (Limerick)

Cathal O’Neill produced a complete midfield performance for Limerick in their Munster SHC win over Waterford. He scored two points from play, created many scoring opportunities for his team-mates, and put in an impressive defensive shift too.

James McNaughton (Antrim)

James McNaughton was the key man for Antrim in their win over Carlow that saw them retain their Leinster SHC status for another year. The livewire attacker scored 2-3 from play.
