Sunday's 1-19 to 2-12 win over a battling Keady outfit at the Athletic Grounds illustrated Middletown's ability.

Connor Renaghan struck an early goal for Keady, but Middletown responded to lead 0-11 to 1-7 at the break with Dean Gaffney influential.

After the restart Seán Colton struck a second goal for Keady, but Middletown remained composed.

Ryan Gaffney replied with a major for Middletown, but the teams were level, 1-15 to 2-12 in the closing stages.
