All-Ireland SHC Rd 1 qualifier draw arrangements
The All-Ireland Hurling Round 1 and Round 2 Qualifier Draw will take place tomorrow morning on RTE Radio One around 8.35am.
The draw for the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Round 1 Qualifiers will take place tomorrow (Monday) morning.
The draw will take place on RTÉ Radio 1 on Morning Ireland at 8.35am and will take the following format.
This round shall involve the Preliminary Round Winner (Laois) and the defeated teams in the Leinster Semi-Finals (Galway & Wexford) as well as the defeated teams in the Munster Quarter-Final (Waterford) & Semi-Finals (Clare & Cork).
Rule: “The Preliminary Round Winner & one of the Leinster beaten semi-finalist shall be drawn against two Munster teams, which shall include the beaten quarter-finalist. The remaining two teams will get a bye to Round 2”.
Set-up & Steps
Two Bowls
Bowl 1: (Munster) – Cork & Clare
Bowl 2: (Leinster) Galway & Wexford
Also: Waterford, Laois
1st step: Draw the Bye Teams.
Draw one team from Bowl 1
Draw one team from Bowl 2.
These are the two teams who will receive a bye to Round 2.
2nd Step
Place the unopened canister “Waterford” in Bowl 1 and the unopened canister “Laois/Antrim” in bowl 2.
3rd Step – draw first fixture:
Draw a team from Bowl 1 to play a team from Bowl 2.
4th Step- draw second fixture:
Repeat step 3 by drawing a team from Bowl 1 to play a team from Bowl 2.
The fixture dates, times and venues will be subsequently confirmed by a meeting of CCCC.
